Brett grew up as an atheist until he was radically transformed by the Holy Spirit during his early years at the University of Florida.  During college he met and married Sydney, had his first son, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. Brett recently received his ministerial credentials with the Assemblies of God. He has a passion for discipling youth so that they, in turn, can disciple others.

Sydney was born in Wichita, Kansas and was brought up with an understanding of the Gospel.  When her family moved to Sebring, Florida, she became involved in a missions-minded church that supported her on various missions trips in the States as well as overseas to East Africa and Papua New Guinea.  After graduating from the University of Florida, she began pursuing a career as a lactation consultant and currently works as a breastfeeding counselor and volunteers as a leader with an international breastfeeding organization.

Brett and Sydney first committed to serving God overseas together at Urbana Missions Conference 2009 prior to getting married.  Since then, God has patiently been preparing and training them to become full-time missionaries.  They have two children, Isaac (3 yrs) and Judah (9 months).  They are currently raising funds and plan to move to South Africa to work with Life Church Pretoria in 2014.  Brett will be serving as the church’s youth pastor and Sydney has a heart for reaching the spiritual and physical needs of the poor at Life Community Center
